Rep. Ukodhiko receives freed comedian, Ajirioghene Otagba

…reiterates call for unity in Isoko
…drums more support for Gov Oborevwori

Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Tuesday, received activist-comedian, Ajirioghene Otagba, popularly known as #MC2Kingdom, who was released from the Nigerian Police Force custody, after days of detention.

The Isoko-born comedian was arrested and detained over allegations of cyber-bullying and defamation of Chief Mathew Edevbie, the Group Managing Director of Income Electrix Ltd on the uncompleted 132KVA Sub-station electrification project at Ozoro.

Receiving the comedian and a host of Isoko youths at his Abuja residence, the National Assembly member commended the Isoko people for their solidarity, love and commitment towards the release of Otagba.

Hon. Ukodhiko said, “I want to thank God Almighty for the release of our dear son and, also I thank you all for your consistent efforts and show of solidarity for our son and brother, Ajirioghene Otagba during his ordeal.

“I must thank my dear brother, Senator Joel Onowakpor-Thomas, whom I always work hand in hand to ensure that meaningful development comes to Isoko.”

The House of Representatives member in his remark, reiterated the need for sustained unity in Isoko-nation, saying that, “We must learn how to work together in unity for the development of Isoko because that is the only way we can thrive.”

Hon. Ukodhiko buttressed that, “wealth is created through patronage, somebody must patronize you to make it, it is not by size not strength, but by love which can only come by unity.

“One of the factors that has distinguished Israel from other nations of the world it is her strength in unity which they always put ahead before personal gains.

“Recall, what the woman told Jesus Christ, even though I am not worthy to eat from your table, what about the crumbs? It’s time now, for us to grow beyond crumbs eating and learn to always support our own.

“Yes, check again, round Isoko, there are no Federal Government’s institutions apart from the Police Stations and military settlement. The moment is now for us to support our people in positions to ensure that we change the story.

“So, I want to sincerely thank Chief Matthew Edevbie, for listening to the voice of reasoning and matching his promise of releasing our son unconditionally with action.

“The Urhobo and Isoko are the closest ethnic groups in Delta State not because of land boundaries but for our similarities in languages, traditions, and customs, and we continue to maintain that closeness and relationship.”

On the controversy surrounding the project, Hon. Ukodhiko called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and all stakeholders to work towards completion of the electricity project for the overall benefit and economic development of the Isoko nation.

“Moving forward, let us learn to accommodate each other and allow unity to take center stage in our affairs for sustainable development and empowerment of our people.” He added added.

Closing his remark, Hon. Ukodhiko thanked the Governor of Delta State for his developmental projects in IsokoLand and Delta at large through his pragmatic MORE Agenda that is transforming Delta State into a Modern vibrant state.

He again, stressed the need for massive support of the Governor’s MORE Agenda, calling on all Sons and Daughter of Isokoland irrespective of their political learnings to Support Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for a second tenure comes 2027.

Earlier, Mr Ajirioghene Otagba, expressed appreciation to the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives foron the significant roles he played that saw to his release from the Nigerian Police Custody in Abuja.
