50TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY: Ukodhiko receives Oleh Ward 1 & 2 PDP Stakeholders
…seeks more support for Gov Oborevwori
Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, received leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Oleh Ward 1 and 2 who came to felicitate with him ahead of his 50th birthday anniversary.
Addressing the leaders and party stalwarts at his Erawha-Owhe countryhome on Monday evening, the House of Representatives member said he was full of happiness with their felicitation visit.
In his words, “I am so happy today, not because of money or cow, but the thoughtfulness and rememberance of you all that you have a son who is celebrating his 50th year on earth. This means a lot to me and I’m immensely happy.
“Yes, I can’t and I’ll never forget Oleh where my mother came from. Your coming today makes a lot of difference to me. Moving forward, I will do more to advance our community.
“I listened to the remark of our leader, Chief Joe Aruasi, and I want to say, I am member of the House of Representatives’ committee on TETFUND. True is, there are a lot of funds in TETFUND, but then Delta State owned Universities have not access more from it.
“The issue of infrastructures of the Oleh Campus of the Delta State University, DELSU, I will take up the issue very seriously with the Governor, other stakeholders and institutions.
“For the issue of solar lights. Why I decided to light-up the communities in Isokoland was due to the darkness I do see at nights. I had to lobby for 1,600 solar lights which were equitably distributed to our communities to be illuminated at nights.
“We will keep doing more for our communities. Yes, in the 2025 budget, I’ll ensure Oleh gets internal roads. I know some Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) are not well equipped in Oleh and other communities in Isoko. We are looking on how to equip them.
“The recent free-medical outreach that was carried out in celebration of my 50th birthday show we need to focus on the health sector of the constituency. We are already procuring drugs ahead of another outreach that will be done again, soon.”
On human capital development of the people of Isoko, Hon. Ukodhiko assured he would continue to lobby for many isoko sons and daughters to be employed to the civil service but urged the people to always apply whenever there are advertorial.
The PDP House of Representatives member called for more support for the Governor of Delta State ahead of the 2027 election, who he stated about remained committed towards advancing the State through public infrastructures, good policies and impactful economic programmes for the people.
Hon Ukodhiko said, “We are the party here in Oleh Wards. let us continue to support the State Government in their determination of advancing the State through the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Governor.
“Let us return to our wards and units and, start mobilizing more intensely, our people to support and vote our party and the Governor in the 2027 general elections. let’s turn out all the votes for Governor Sherrif Oborevwori.” The Federal legislator urged.
Earlier in his remark, leader of the delegation, Chief Joe Arausi said, they were at the country-home of the member representing Isoko federal constituency primarily to felicitate with him on his 50th birthday.
Chief Arausi who is the Chairman of Delta State Urban Water Board thanked Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko for standing in support for the PDP in Isoko North and Isoko South, appreciating him for his numerous developmental project he attracted to Isoko, and empowerment programme he has done for the people.
“You stood and still standing supportively for Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government Areas. We are here also, to appreciate you for all you have done, and be assured of our unwavering support for you.
“We saw the solar lights while coming through Otor-Owhe down to Erawha-Owhe here and those solar lights are also in Oleh and other parts of Isokoland you facilitated. We appreciate you for all that and others .
“However, we want you to use your good office to ensure TETFUND projects are sited in the Oleh campus of DELSU, and also ensure more human capital development of our people.” Chief Arausi said.
The delegation included Chairman, PDP, Isoko South Chapter, Hon Victor Ekelega, former Member Representing Isoko South State Constituency 1, Hon. Benjamin Efekodo, a party stalwart, Sir Michael Evivie, Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor, Chief Evans Egbo JP, leader of Isoko South Legislative Arm, Hon Bright Olokor among others.
