ISOKO NORTH, AND SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

We can achieve a lot when we are united (Okugbe-Isoko)

Dearly beloved constituents, without mincing words, I want to commend you all, the great sons and daughters of Isoko Nation, for your spirited and unmatched solidarity stand with our son, Ajirioghene Otagba, who was arrested by the Nigeria Police on a defamation and cyberbully petition submitted by Chief Matthew Edevbie against him.

Without attempting to sugarcoat the situation, we have significantly registered our displeasure over this arrest; our calls for his unconditional release have reached a crescendo and have equally gotten to Chief Matthew Edevbie, who is also a son and a patriot of Delta State.

During our several phone conversations, he promised that our son will be released as soon as possible, which is pleasant to hear.

Having shown our strength in unity, I would want to appeal to our people at this juncture to tune down as IDU, our highest socio-cultural parent body; the political class; other highly placed Isoko sons and daughters; and other well-meaning Deltans are already interfacing with Chief Matthew Edevbie for quick resolution.

This appeal became expedient because of our shared desires to see that our son is released unconditionally and that nobody truncates the peace process already initiated by further usage of inflammatory words, bearing in mind that all those involved are Deltans.

In all honesty, the resolute solidarity stand of our people in this particular case clearly underscores the Isoko people’s collective strength when we unite to pursue a common goal.

I am optimistic that at the end, NDDC will do the needful and initiate a quick process of doing all it can to get the contractor back to site for the speedy completion of the 132KVA Sub-Station project for the benefit of our people.
