Hundreds receive free medical care at Abuanor Primary School as programme moves to Ogwashi clan

t was the turn of Ogwashi clan to benefit from Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike’s free medical care initiative and a large crowd thronged Abuanor Primary School, Ogwashu-Uku venue today for Ward 2 residents.
Youths, women, infants as well as the elderly were on hand on Monday as expert medical personnel attended to the health needs of the people as they held consultations and dispensed drugs freely to the people.
Hon. Pastor Chukwunwike, executive chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, had earlier in a statement said that the medical outreach is in line with his administration’s determination to better the lot of the people through an effective Public Private Partnership structure (PPP).
“Health, they say, is wealth. As a government, we realize it is not enough for us to invest in infrastructural projects alone. Although, we are doing our best in that area, part of the legacies that this administration wants to bequeath is the provision of free medical services to our people”, the council chairman said.
Through the outreach that began in Ogwashi clan today after similar exercises in Ubulu and Nsukwa clans, all the communities in the clan will have the exercise taken to their door steps. It will be the turn of residents in Ward on Tuesday, August 15, according to the schedule of the outreach programme
On Wednesday, August 16, the train will move to Olloh and Olodu communities where it will be the turn of residents in Ward 3.
For Ward 1 residents comprising Azagba, Edo and Otulu, Thursday, August 17 is their day. Residents have been advised to note the appropriate days for their area.
The exercise comprises of free health talks and counseling deworming, blood pressure check, blood sugar check, other laboratory services, general body check and free medications.
Leader of Aniocha South Sixth Legislative Assembly and Councilor representing Ward 2A, Hon. Leonard Nzemeke, said that over 400
beneficiaries have so far benefited from the outreach programme.
Hon. Nelson Ijeh, Councilor representing Ward 2B; Supervisory councillor on Education, Hon. Sandra Obiarinze representing Ward 2; Hon. Dr. Patrick Chukwueloke Onyekananke and Hon. Jude Igwebueze as well as other Ward representatives were on ground to monitor the exercise.
