Oborevwori salutes Sen. Stella Omu at 78

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Stella Unuezi Omu, OON, on the occasion of her 78th birth anniversary on 22nd December, 2023.

Omu, an illustrious Deltan from Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, is a retired Deputy Controller General of Prisons and wife of Maj. Gen. Paul Omu, former Military Governor of defunct South Eastern State.

She was elected Senator to represent Delta South Senatorial District in 1999 and subsequently emerged Senate Chief Whip.

Governor Oborevwori in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Festus Ahon, in Asaba, lauded Omu for her tremendous contributions to nation building.

He said that Senator Omu had made enormous contributions to the development of Nigeria, especially as a one time Deputy Controller General of Prisons and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oborevwori described Omu, as a role model and exemplary mother who is always advocating for a better life for women across the world.

The Governor said: “With your amazing public service career, you have continued to render indelible service to our state and country.

“It is on record that you distinguished yourself as an astute public administrator and leader of immense repute and we remain very proud of your sterling accomplishments in life.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you, Senator Stella Unuezi Omu, OON, on the occasion of your 78th birth anniversary.

“I join your family, political associates, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for your life which has been marked by robustly sterling accomplishments and abounding fulfillment.

“As you celebrate this anniversary, it is my prayer that Almighty God continue to bless you with good health and more years of happiness and contributions to nation-building”.
